Who We Help

At Brazoria County Specialty Recovery Courts Foundation, we are dedicated to supporting individuals who are actively participating in Brazoria County’s Specialty Recovery Courts. These specialty courts provide structured rehabilitation programs for individuals facing legal challenges due to substance use disorders, mental health conditions, or other struggles that impact their ability to lead stable lives.

Veterans Treatment Court
Brazoria County Veterans Court provides individuals the opportunity to change life circumstances and become alcohol and drug free. This is accomplished by comprehensive assessment and treatment (chemical and mental health), intensive supervision, random drug and breath testing, regular court appearances and immediate sanctions and incentives. Honesty and individual accountability are at the foundation of the program.
Recovery Court
The Brazoria County Recovery Court Program is a specialized program within the Brazoria County Criminal Justice System. It is a court-supervised treatment program for individuals with DWI-related criminal charges, histories of DWI-related offenses, or who also have issues with alcohol (or substance) addiction.
S.T.E.P Drug Court Program
The Brazoria County Drug Court Program is a specialized program within the Brazoria County Criminal Justice System. It is a court-supervised treatment program for individuals with non-violent criminal charges who also have issues with drug or alcohol addiction. The program is voluntary and participation is one's personal choice. The Drug Court Team is present to assist and guide the individual in the program by connecting them to necessary or recommended resources, services, and/or treatment. The program represents a collaborative effort of the Court, District Attorney's Office, Brazoria County Community Supervision and Corrections Department, treatment providers, and law enforcement working together to ensure each individual's needs are met.
Mental Health Court
The Mental Health Court Program provides a structured link for participants with mental health diagnoses to treatment, rehabilitation, medication management, social support services and criminal justice services. The goal of improving participant's quality of life can be accomplished by leading them to appropriate treatment programs, monitoring medication compliance, and connecting them with other available resources in the community.
Domestic Violence Court
The Brazoria County Domestic Violence Court Program was established to enhance victim safety, promote offender accountability, and provide consistent judicial decision making for cases involving domestic violence. The program represents a collaborative effort of victim advocates, law enforcement, treatment providers, the District Attorney's Office, Brazoria County Community Supervision and Corrections Department and the Court, all working together to break the cycle of violence. This partnership will provide the opportunity for the Court to hold offenders accountable for their abusive and controlling behaviors, while providing early intervention to both victims and offenders.
