About Us
Our Mission
At Brazoria County Specialty Recovery Courts Foundation, we are committed to providing essential financial support and resources to individuals participating in Brazoria County’s Specialty Recovery Courts. Our goal is to remove barriers to recovery and rehabilitation by offering interim assistance that complements government-funded programs, ensuring participants have the tools they need to succeed.
Our History
Originally established as the Brazoria County Veterans’ Court Foundation on January 26, 2018, our organization was founded by U.S. veterans and dedicated community supporters Kelley D. Smith, Arthur Velasquez, and Chuck Pate, with strong backing from the Honorable Judge Terri Holder (retired).
Recognizing the need to expand support beyond the Veterans Specialty Court, we transitioned to the Brazoria County Specialty Recovery Courts Foundation on June 18, 2020. Shortly after, we secured 501(c)(3) non-profit status on September 12, 2020, reinforcing our commitment to helping individuals navigate the challenges of early sobriety and recovery.
